OUR LADY OF LA SALETTE SODALITY
Inspired by the Missionary Fathers of La Salette and the Blessed Mother, a small group of women in our parish formed Our Lady of La Salette Sodality in 1948. For almost seventy-five years, Sodality members have dedicated themselves to the spiritual well-being of the church. The Sodality sponsors retreats, programs and devotional practices throughout the year such as the May Crowningand praying the Holy Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Inspirational books, pamphlets and free rosaries are provided in the church. At times, the Sodality helped support the parish by purchasing needed equipment and helping refurbish the Marian statues in the grotto. Each fall, the Sodality holds a homemade soup fundraiser to help support these ongoing efforts.
The Sodality celebrates the Feast Day of Our Lady of La Salette on September 19 – the anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady of La Salette when our Blessed Mother appeared to two children near the town of La Salette, France in 1846. On September 19, 2021, the La Salette Sodality hosted the 175th Anniversary of the La Salette Apparition.
La Salette Missionary Fathers traveled to Phoenicia to concelebrate a special Mass at St. Francis de Sales and conduct a ceremony in the Grotto. Over one hundredparishioners and guests enjoyed a delicious luncheon afterward
New in 2021 and still going strong...a weekly Rosary! When COVID-19 initially halted in person activities, the Sodality used "Zoom" to bring people together to pray the Rosary. Every Tuesday at 11:00 AM, we continue this devotion at the rectory and via Zoom. Those who are homebound or away from the area can now join us through the internet!
Women of the parish are welcome to attend our meetings (March through December)
to learn about the Sodality and how we serve the spiritual needs of our parish.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, Ministries are not fully running, please check bulletin or website for updates.
